GUESS DEBUTS AT THE MIAMI SWIMSHOW WITH THE SS18 BEACHWEAR COLLECTION

New York, NY – This summer 2017, GUESS will make its debut at the annual Miami SwimShow, one of the largest swimwear tradeshows in the world located at the Miami Beach Convention Center from July 22nd to 25th. Among the industry’s most established and long-standing exhibitions, the SwimShow attracts annually more than 7,500 brands and buyers from 60 countries across the world and showcases in excess of 2,500 lines. The tradeshow will be hosted in the heart of South Beach, a vibrant destination with stunning beaches and an exciting nightlife.
GUESS will showcase its Spring/Summer 2018 Beachwear collection, a delivery that will be distributed globally with the goal of developing the brand’s market penetration in under-represented areas, such as Northern Europe, USA and Asia. The GUESS SS18 Beachwear collection is inspired by lively tropical moods to urban influences with retro vibes.

The collection’s palette of electric hues, such as bright purple, water green and peacock blue, enhance the tropical palms and exotic flowers seen on the prints. Metal details and studs on all-over prints toughen up a romantic and bohemian mood. Flower compositions alternate with patterns inspired by Middle Eastern motifs, in dynamic shades including summer orange and deep jungle green.

The carefree spirit of the Californian hot season is expressed in fun prints with floral motifs and geometric patterns, along with deconstructed gingham and stripes, and all highlighted by bold pop colors. Lycra and microfiber underlie statement silhouettes, from stunning monokinis to a vast assortment of bikinis in different styles. Most pieces are designed for a smooth transition from beach to party, and can be paired with stylish cover-ups.

For him, palms and flowers bloom in all-over prints that instantly evoke idyllic tropical paradises, in a clash of bright hues such as vivid blue and shocking pink. The beautiful Huntington Beach, an iconic Californian destination and the birthplace of surfing, is the source of inspiration for typical surf motifs on prints. Basic and light nylon featured on shorts in various on-trend styles, along with lycra and a special stretch nylon capable of providing the perfect mix of lightness and performance.

Zoemende musketiers

Bijen hebben de reputatie om altijd bezig te zijn. Ze zoenen de bloemen dat het een lieve lust is en verzamelen zo de nectar zodat er bij de mensen heerlijke honing op tafel komt. Maar de boog kan niet altijd gespannen staan: de Woody-bijen kruisen geregeld hun angels die ze omvormen tot degens. Ze zetten eerst hun floppy musketiershoed op, trekken hun rode laarsjes aan en de strijd kan beginnen. Het bijenthema kleurt zich in warme kruidentinten die het beeld oproepen van kruidenkraampjes in Marokkaanse souks.

Kreeften met zuiders temperament

Kreeften leven op de bodem van de zee. Het gaat er altijd gezellig aan toe, vooral wanneer het party time is. Hun scharen gebruiken ze dan als castagnetten en samen dansen ze flamenco. Het kreeftenthema kleurt zich in oranje en in verschillende tonen blauw. Kortom, een nieuwe versie van het zomerse marinethema, maar dan wel gekruid met een zuiderse “bailando” twist.

Toeterende olifanten

Olifanten zijn kolossale dieren die je vooral in Afrika en India vindt. Ze hebben een lange slurf waarmee ze niet alleen blaadjes van de hoge bomen plukken, maar ook toeteren. Dat wil wel eens van pas komen wanneer ze het verkeer onveilig maken op hun Vespa. No worry, ze zien er vervaarlijk uit maar in werkelijkheid zijn het echte schatjes. Zongebleekte tinten staan hier centraal en zorgen voor zachte kleurencombinaties.

Wednesday, April 19, 2017 — The Luxottica Group – one of the leading names in the global eyewear sector and the owner of iconic sunglasses brand Ray-Ban – has unveiled its new 2017 communication campaign, which draws on the creative instincts of renowned American photographer Steven Klein.
Featuring seven stunning shots, the Ray-Ban campaign is a healthy rebellion against the accepted logic of a society built around stereotypes – stereotypes that prevent us from truly being ourselves. Steven Klein captures the very moment in which the protagonists shake off the past to liberate themselves, realise their potential, change and set themselves apart without ever turning back. The campaign is sometimes irreverent, sometimes impertinent, but always authentic. As Ray-Ban turns 80, the concept of authenticity -embodied by the brand’s signage- is stronger, bolder and more surprising than ever.


“The campaign is about diversity and individualism” explains Klein. “The whole concept of the campaign is based on creating a world where people are leaving one world, entering another world based on the idea of never looking back. One of the great things about doing this campaign was that it felt authentic in the sense that whoever wears Ray-Ban takes on their own identity and the glasses do not wear them.”


The subjects of the images wear models that have either gone down in Ray-Ban history, as the timeless Ray-Ban Aviator, the evergreen Ray-Ban Clubmaster, the relaunched Ray-Ban The General or models that just hit the shelves for the first time, like the Ray-Ban Blaze and Ray-Ban Dean styles.
